Elinor Martin
Post Diagnostic Advisor
Based in South Wales, Ellie supports people who have been diagnosed with hearing loss/tinnitus in the last 18 months, giving advice and guidance to those who need support to thrive and live a full and happy life.
Before COS, Ellie worked for RNID for just over 4 years, doing Administration and Employment support before starting the Post Diagnostic Advisor role in May 2021. Her background is in education where she worked for many years supporting deaf children/teenagers to access mainstream education using Sign Supported English and British Sign Language. Ellie also worked for NDCS where she worked as Project Officer for a project supporting deaf teenagers to make informed choices about their futures post education.
Ellie started to learn BSL in 2011 and in 2020 she passed her level 4 qualification. She has a level 4 apprenticeship in Advice & Guidance, which she believes helps her deliver a high-quality service to her service users. She has recently enrolled on a ‘Welsh at work’ course to help her brush up on her conversation Welsh.
Ellie lives in the Vale of Glamorgan with her husband, her 11-month-old son and dog Wilf! Her boys keep her very busy! If sheโs not at work then sheโs changing nappies, having fun at a baby class, walking her dog on the beach or relaxing with her husband watching a show on Netflix after a long day! Ellie moved near the coast after living in Cardiff for many years. She enjoys the slower paced lifestyle now and spending time with her friends and family.
