Critical Support for Patients

Support from Accessible Health means Deaf patients are no longer reliant on family to support them and their health information remains confidential. Without Accessible Health many patients may not seek medical help, and those that do may struggle to communicate with the booking system leaving them unsure if communication support had been booked. As a result appointments or treatment may be being delayed, impacting on physical and mental wellbeing.

For Health Professionals

Accessible Health benefits health professionals as it alerts them to the need for appropriate communication support, we can support them through the booking procedure with the Wales Interpreting and Translation Service (WITS) and can liaise with patients on their behalf.

With the support of Accessible Health, patients are seen quickly, with appropriate communication support and are therefore more likely to be treatment compliant.

“I find really very useful to have cos to call dr /dentist/ hospital etc if I need help, they will phone whatever to get appt i grateful why sometime can be long wait 5 mins or an hour to catch whatever I need without  staff who can explained and very useful to have BSL.. Also, very condfital and respectful. In the old days use family i rather be independent and more private without cos i cannot do without them i must apricated it. Thank you, cos, for supporting us all Deaf peoples for north Wales.”
