    Funding for organisations to become more inclusive

    Police learning basic BSL to help better serve the Deaf Community

    We have been awarded 2 pots of funding allowing us to support other organisations and their volunteers in making North Wales more welcoming and inclusive.

    CVSC (Community and Voluntary Support Conwy) have kindly funded 750 licences for volunteers working in Conwy to complete our online Sensory Loss Awareness programme. This course will give volunteers a basic awareness of the needs of people with a sensory loss and how they can meet them. 

    The National Lottery also see the benefit of training for volunteers and have awarded us funding to provide free BSL taster sessions to people who volunteer in North Wales. These sessions will teach volunteers how to greet a Deaf BSL user and introduce themselves to each other.

  • BSL Level 6 Graduation

    BSL Level 6 Graduation

    The British Sign Language Level 6 is the highest BSL qualification you can achieve, taking skills to an advanced level and opening doors to exciting opportunities. 

    This course is designed to develop skills to near-native fluency in British Sign Language and help communicate and understand complex ideas in a wide range of professional and social contexts.

    Congratulations to Ffion, Sarah and Susan who attended their BSL level 6 graduation in Warrington Deaf Centre.

    Family and friends joined in to celebrate the hard work everyone had put in to achieve their qualification.

    Sarah and Ffion are now working hard to achieve their Interpreter qualification….watch this space.
