Christine

Chair of the Board of Trustees

Christine has been instumental in the success of COS. She appointed the current management team back in 2018, giving guidance, as they grew the organisation’s outreach to beneficiaries and strengthening its finances.

She worked for a Manufacturing facility in Mochdre for 35 years gaining a wealth of experience. Her last role there was as Human Resource Manager, for the UK Manufacturing Operations. The role was based in Colwyn Bay but she travelled to other manufacturing sites within the UK carrying out the HR function, including redundancies and TUPE transfers. She was also Director of the UK Pension Scheme for the entire Company.

Christine has been on the Board of what was North Wales Deaf Association, now COS, since 2004, initially asย Treasurer. Since 2012 she has been Chair since 2012, except for 12 months where I stepped down due to personal reasons in 2021, returning in May 2022.

An energetic volunteer Christine has been passionate about giving back to the community, in the past, giving her time to:

  • Treasurer of Old Colwyn Cub Scout Group.
  • Local committee of Childline which helped to set up Childline in Rhyl.
  • Treasurer of Conwy and Aberconwy Board of Young Enterprise.
  • Local committee of Operation Christmas Child.
  • In addition to raising money and help organise the well known shoebox appeal, the local group including herself, took a convoy to Romania to take aid for children and helped set up and furnish an orphanage.
  • Advisory Group Llandrillo College in Engineering and Business Studies.

To relax and recharge Christine enjoy her allotment and gardening, reading, walking, craft work and grandparent duties.
