Debbie Bennett

Communication Support Worker

Debbie started out as a volunteer with COS in 2015. After being given the opportunity to take the Introduction to British Sign Language course with the charity, she fell in love with the language and continued on to pass Level 4 BSL in 2021. She has enjoyed meeting new people and learning more about Deaf culture at the Deaf Club Coffee Mornings.

In 2023, Debbie became the Education Assistant on the Abi Project, dealing with the admin and visits schools as Angela’s communication support in lessons.

Debbie has also worked part-time on a church newsletter for over 10 years, since gaining a degree in Creative Studies at Bangor University. She is an “old soul” who enjoys researching into her family history, watching period dramas, reading and taking walks in the North Wales countryside.
