Lauren Owen
Post Diagnostic Advisor
Supporting people with hearing loss, with advice and guidance to thrive and live a full and happy life, Lauren is the Post Diagnostic Advisor for Live Well in North Wales.
After learning a little Sign Language as a child Lauren was always keen to learn more. When she relocated she found they taught Sign Language at the local college where she enrolled on the introduction to BSL and was hooked.
Becoming a volunteer at COS was an ideal next step. Through supporting people with hearing loss she boosted her understanding of the language and culture, and gained confidence of using BSL in a natural environment.
In 2022 Lauren became a Volunteer Coordinator for the Live Well with Hearing Loss Project, recruiting Volunteers to support people feeling isolated or lonely with their hearing loss and for support after receiving new equipment, to encourage them to feel confident in using new equipment.
She is now completing her 2nd year of level 3 in BSL. To unwind Lauren enjoys going on walks and spending time with family.
