Lauren Cull

Post Diagnostic Advisor 

Supporting people with hearing loss to thrive and live full, happy lives, Lauren Cull is a Post Diagnostic Advisor for the Live Well with Hearing Loss Project in North Wales.

Lauren developed an interest in British Sign Language (BSL) at a young age after learning some basic signs as a child. When she later relocated, she discovered that her local college offered an introductory BSL course. She enrolled and quickly became passionate about the language and Deaf culture.

Volunteering with COS was a natural next step. Through supporting people with hearing loss, Lauren deepened her understanding of BSL and Deaf culture while building confidence in using sign language in real-life situations.

In 2022, Lauren became Volunteer Coordinator for the Live Well with Hearing Loss Project. In this role, she recruited and supported volunteers who helped individuals experiencing isolation or loneliness due to hearing loss, as well as those adjusting to new hearing equipment. The project aimed to empower people to feel more confident and independent in managing their hearing loss.

Lauren now works as a Post Diagnostic Advisor, providing guidance and support to people who have recently been diagnosed with hearing loss. She helps individuals build confidence in understanding their hearing loss and making the most of their hearing aids and other support available to them.

Alongside her work, Lauren is currently completing her second year of Level 4 BSL studies and is also studying for a degree in Advice and Guidance.

Outside of work, Lauren enjoys tattoo art, exploring new food experiences, going for walks, and spending quality time with her children and family, creating lasting memories together.
